We never touch your Bitcoin after payout. Once it's in your wallet it's yours, forever.

No, deliberately not. The ledger is off-chain — a public, append-only, tamper-evident record of every mint that lives on the store's database, not on Ethereum, Ordinals, or as a Bitcoin inscription. We avoided NFTs because they're legally messy in the US, and because the physical numbered book is the token — a JPEG on Ethereum wouldn't add anything a #47 stamp inside the cover doesn't already do. The sats we gift are ordinary Bitcoin you can spend, save, or send. The Bitcoin is the point, not a wrapper on Bitcoin.

The sats amount is fixed in sats at purchase, so a price spike doesn't cost us more and a crash doesn't shortchange you. We say clearly on every page: this is not an investment, not a securities offering, and not a promise about future price. The book is a book with a real gift inside. The gift is real; its future dollar value is not something we or anyone can promise.

There are 21,000 numbered editions, ever — mirroring Bitcoin's 21 million cap. The number is the value, like a first-run print or a rookie card. #1–#21 are the Wholecoiner top-tier (only 21 exist), #22–#210 are the Genesis batch, and under #630 is Batch 2. Low numbers command higher secondary prices. The ledger is public, so anyone can verify what number was minted when and at what original price.

Yes. It's a numbered scarce edition — you own it and can resell it. We don't restrict resale and don't take a cut of secondary sales. We publish an opt-in ownership registry where you can register your edition number and (optionally) your name or Nostr key, so later buyers can look up provenance — the closest thing to a "verified authentic" for the physical book.

5% of net from every copy goes to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Families who walk into St. Jude never see a bill — not for treatment, travel, housing, or food. The donation is reserved before every ship, and every receipt is published publicly on our St. Jude page.

No. Every code is single-use, cryptographically random (16 characters, base32, ~85 bits of entropy). The redemption endpoint marks the code claimed on the first successful redemption with an atomic write, so a second attempt returns "already claimed." You cannot double-spend a code. The scratch-off is also tamper-evident foil — if a book arrives with a scratched card you didn't scratch, email us a photo and your order ID and we reissue the sats to your Lightning address.

Yes — fully reserved before ship. Every sats gift for a sold book is transferred to the redemption wallet before that book is packed. No fractional reserve, no promise to buy later. The proof-of-reserves address is published and verifiable on-chain. If we disappeared tomorrow, the sats gifts still redeem, because they're already in the redemption wallet — not our operating account.

Never. We are not custodial — we don't hold your keys, and we can't freeze or move your Bitcoin. Anything claiming to be us that asks for your seed phrase, private keys, or a wallet connection is a scam. Ignore it and report it.

This is the honest failure mode: if you claim your sats to a self-custody wallet and then lose the phone or forget the seed phrase, your Bitcoin is gone forever and we cannot recover it — the same as every self-custody Bitcoin holder. The free course teaches this hard in Module 3, and we include a printed seed-phrase card in every book so you can write it down. Self-custody means you're your own bank, and we can't find lost keys any more than a bank can find cash you've burned.
